Welcome to NorthBay MRI / CT Center, your local & independent imaging center. We are an out-patient imaging center that specializes in MRI, CT and bone density (DEXA) scans.

We accept all major insurance plans and have great cash rates. We are conveniently located two blocks off of I-80 at the Appian Way exit. After you receive your doctor's prescription please give us a call -- we can usually scan you within 48 hours.

We have been certified by the American College of Radiology (ACR) in MRI for over 15 years and have been ACR certified in CT since we've offered it. Being ACR accredited means that our facility annually undergoes a rigorous review process and meets nationally accepted standards of care. Our radiologists are also MRI fellowship trained. We understand that imaging is the first step in a path to a solution and that's why we make quality patient care & imaging results our highest priority.

AO Rawal, M.D., M.S.

Dr. Rawal completed his fellowship training in clinical MRI from Harvard Medical School's Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was also appointed an instructor in radiology at the Harvard Medical School. Dr. Rawal completed his radiology residency training at the University of Texas/MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston where he also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Rawal's internship was completed at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina.

He has extensive experience in all aspects of clinical MRI including Musculoskeleton (MRI arthrography, joints, spine), Neuro and Body MRI (including Breast MRI, MRCP, MRA, cardiac, liver, adrenal and kidney). He has particular interest in Oncological Imaging and developing new applications of MRI in body imaging.

In his free time, Dr. Rawal enjoys traveling, yoga, hiking, wine tasting, and spending time with his wife who is a physician at UCSF.

Stephen M. Hesseltine, M.D.

Dr. Hesseltine completed his fellowship training in Neuroradiology at New York University Medical Center. He completed his radiology residency training at Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan, where he also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Hesseltine's internship was completed at the University of California, Irvine.

In addition to board certification in Diagnostic Radiology, Dr. Hesseltine holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Neuroradiology. He has special interest in brain, spine, head and neck imaging. Dr. Hesseltine also has extensive experience in all other aspects of clinical MRI including bone and joint imaging, and also has interest and extensive experience in CT including Oncological imaging.

In his free time, Dr. Hesseltine enjoys being a dad to his two daughters, and builds computers as a hobby.
